Worshipful Company of Ironmongers to fund two cast iron cylinder rear covers for HENGIST

The cylinders provide the driving force for the locomotive and the £6,300 grant will be used to manufacture two rear cylinder end covers.

Sir Andrew Cook Driving Wheels

Sir Andrew Cook of William Cook Engineering has kindly donated the 6 main driving wheels to HENGIST, worth over £100,000. This is a major step forward in the Locomotive build. We need to keep the momentum going and find new donors for the axels, tyres, cannon boxes and bearings

The Pony Truck is the "2" of a 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive. The Pony Truck along with the driving wheels from William Cook Cast Products will make the frame assembly of Hengist a rolling chassis. We are looking to raise funds to complete this section. For more information please go to:
